RE: Pre-season Intermission 1: A Day before Church (MALVERINES!)
As if on cue, Sydira reappeared from the bathroom. Her mask, gloves and coat replaced with a clean doctor. She was adjusting her gray long sleeve shirt before strolling over to the bar. She didn't give Dylan a second glance; clearly Sydira wasn't to thrilled with him either. She remembered the other day quite differently. Sitting herself down as far from the others as she could, the woman pulled a paper back novel from her bag setting the bookmark down she began to read silently to herself.

RE: Pre-season Intermission 1: A Day before Church (MALVERINES!)
Fortek's usual lack of speech was something that was in a way refreshing. His officers had been chosen for their brains and ability not their mouths. That notion alone is one reason he wanted to shoot a few people in general. At the moment though his eyes were wandering over to Sydria. She had just popped into the Saloon without a word (not that he was not use to the woman being temperamental), to him she was just being normal. With his luck some fucking patient of hers had talked back which mean he would be dealing with a bitching doctor for the rest of the weak. Headaches were going to be in good supply it seemed.

Then he noticed that there was blood on the recently cleaned floor. Fuck me life.

"Tis good he has been trained then eh Carna...we are buying a fucking clean bot when we get the money." His usual country twang was not present in that statement. He noticed Dylan's arrival and all his interplay with Carnatia. The Poor lad was trying to run away from the hands of Sydira, he could feel some sympathy for the lad, but she was the local doctor. Who was he to get in her face, unless he needed to bring an issue to the Table.

"Seems y'all need a drink. On the house fer now, I need to check me notes about a few things," he said indicating for them to carefully serve themselves as he looked out a notebook covered in some strange sigils.

Fortek smiled to himself when the boss said "on the house". Today was a good day! He unstretched himself and moved his chair back so that he could stand. The floorboards might have creaked a bit when he stood up, due to his hefty weight. The quiet man walked over to Carna.

[b]"I'll have some snoglug ale, Carna" said Fortek, smiling at the aurin. He could be very gentle in his demeanor, especially for a granok that carried a large rifle with himself everywhere. He had left the rifle and his designs behind at the table too, which also helped the gentle image.

He looked over at Dylan, not recognizing the new member of the Gang. He didn't say anything, however. He waited to observe the man, to get a feel for what the human was capable of and his mentality. So far he looked like a fit: rowdy and spirited. Then Fortek looked over to the good doctor, Sydira, who he respected. She seemed to him to be quite a good doctor, even if she could be a bit brutal; granok doctors often worked similarly. He kept his speculations on the others silent as he waited for his drink.

It was getting a bit later in the day, and Taru was beginning to wonder if she would be working at all. The saloon was deathly quiet at times, and she wondered if she would ever get used to her relative isolation in one of the private rooms on the second floor. Earlier she'd gone down to start her shift, but a grumpy Cathal who demanded peace and had easily scared her off. So, back up the stairs she went, and in her room she sat curled up on a bed with a sketchbook in her lap.

Happily and ignortantly, she sketched pictures of this and that in her book. Nothing substantial. Taru knew she wasn't particularly good at drawing, but it was a creative outlet that entertained her for a while. It got old quickly, however, and she set the book and pencil aside with a small sigh.

SLAM. SHUT.

Taru jumped out of her seat at the startling sound of an angry door coming from downstairs. Could that be Cathal leaving? The aurin quickly scurried off her bed and opened the bedroom door slowly. She came to the staircase and padded down the steps as silently as she could on her bare feet. She sat on the stairs after take a few steps, and just examined those who had gathered within the saloon. Chin rested upon her knees, she noticed a couple familiar voice already- that of Carnatia and Shiori. The temperamental Doctor she recognized from the other day was there as well, and so wasn't that hooligan who'd taken a fall to the floor rather ungraciously. Didn't get his name. There was also a granok she hadn't met before.

Cathal was still there, however, and Taru was largely unsure whether she was supposed to do anything about those inside. "Umm.." she made her way down the stairs once again, walking across the saloon until she got to Cathals side, where she would just slip onto a stool next to him, unsure what to do. She would regard any who looked her way a very calm, but insecure smile. "It got.. noisy all of a sudden.." Her ears flipped forward, one swiveled in Cathal's direction.

"Clean bot, eh? Keep away fromt he tinkerers, they'll probably try to modify and blow up the saloon incidentally." Carna replies to Cathal with a wink, then she is approached by Fortek.

Carna smiles at Fortek. Truth be told it had been a while since she had seen the man. But it was nice to see him nonetheless. "Coming right up, my honey." She replies to Fortek with a smile.

She turns behind the bar and begins to poke through the glasses. There was the little ones, the medium ones, the large ones, and then the ones she was looking for. Extra-granok-large. After the drinking habits of some of the Granok the saloon had been equipped in them. She pulls back her blond hair and brings the rather large cup up underneath the beer taps. She pours the liquid intot he large cup and hands it to Fortek, "Enjoy!" Carna says.

Carna then notices Taru, "Good morning Taru!" She says to her with a little wave.

Dylan followed Cathal's gaze to see whom she was greeting. That was when he saw and recognized the Aurin he'd met at some point last week. She was new from what he could gather, but certainly easy on the eyes. In general, Dylan tended to favor his own race over other species, although even he had to admit that the most recent addition to the exile fleet were certainly the next race down from human that he'd consider... currently there was a tie for third, which in his mind was only a technicality as none of his fantasies ever moved past 'second'...

"Good morning, indeed!" Dylan said with a sly grin and a raised eyebrow, "So, are you on duty now or can a fellah buy you a drink and a meal?" Not taking his eyes off Taru, he smoothly reached behind him for the fancy drink Carna had just mixed for him and... promptly knocked it over, causing it to spill down the bar in a swirl of multiple colors, ruining the carefully constructed drink with layered beverages in it.

Dylan quickly swiveled around on his bar stool and frantically looked back and forth for a napkin or a towel, but could only watch in embarrassed chagrin as the liquid ran down the bar and dripped off onto the floor in a small puddle.

Shiori just raised an eyebrow at the spill and chuckled. "Spilled drinks aside, it's good to see you again Carna and Taru." He looked at the mess that had been steadily growing as the people milled around. Giving all the patron's a once over with his critical, ice-blue gaze he huffed before speaking.

"Well, you don't have to buy a cleaning bot persay. If I can get the right materials, I can build one. I'm rather good with robotics, Eldan tech as well."

As Carna leaves Fortek's drink in front of him, then turns in time to see Dylan act like... Something else, and spill the drink she had made for him all over the bar top. Carna just glares at Dylan for doing that.

She heaves a sigh before picking up a cloth to help clean up the mess Dylan created, "If you want that remade, I'm charging you this time. In case you spill it again. Even if it is an accident it's wasteful of the product," Carna says, "After that, the price will double if you spill it again without drinking it." She says then purses him lip still looking at him while wiping the counter with the rag.

Carna looks past Dylan to Shio and she gives him a little smile and a nod, "Hey, Shio." She then finishes cleaning the counter, takes Dylan's soaked napkins, and throws the napkins away while wringing out the rag over the little sink behind the counter, then leaving it there int he basin. She proceeds to wash her hands in the sink.

Not long after she mumbled her last statement, a cheerful female voice spoke her name, along with a greeting. Taru lifted her head and gave Carnatia a warm smile. She gripped the edge of the counter top and leaned forward slightly. "Good morning!" That simple interaction alone gave her some much-needed energy. She then turned to (Dylan) not long after, since he seemed to be addressing her as well.

The aurin noticed how his eyes had lingered, but she seemed to look behind her anyway, just to make sure that she was the one he was talking to. "I'm not on duty at the moment.. My shift isn't until later today. And I'm not terribly hungry. Thank you though." The smile she gave him was more than pleasant. She listened to Shiori speak, nodding in his direction, and then looked back at the spilled drink that she didn't seem to notice. She was about to help Carna with the cleaning of the mess, but decided to stay out of it since it looked like the other woman had it handled.

The mess didn't seem to bother her at all, and she calmly kept her gaze bouncing between the individuals around. She nodded as the other female aurin spoke and decided to comment as well, "You definitely might want to be more careful.. sir. From what I've seen, you're quite the klutz. Even more than me! Oh.. ah... what's your name again?"

Fortek gave the usual gentle reply after asking for some ale. Cathal pulled the notebook closer within reach and placed his gaze solely upon it. At this point he had been studying the strange symbols for the past week with his stress over the damn things growing daily. The man didn't look as healthy as before as it was obvious that something was eating him up inside. The damn things were Eldan he surmised, something that the Dominion had dug up here on Nexus. What they were, and what purpose they served was not however something he could figure out.

He heard the slamming of doors and ignored the doctor, the woman was irritable as usual. Cathal glanced up at the stairway and noticed that Taru's door was open. Sa, she is up there. The silent confirmation gave him a bit of interest at least.

"We can always install some koind o' security system linkin' it ta reggie," he replied to Carna as the woman began to talk to Fortek and then to Dylan.

"Seems yer doin well pilot, liking them new colors?" he asked the young man with a grin on his face. Then he heard the new kid talking about building a cleanbot. Heck if the kid could do it cheaply and with good quality Cathal would back em!

"What ye need kid," he said to Shiori as he waited for a reply from Dylan. His eyes wandered as Taru was wearing her usual outfit. She did look good in the damn little thing and he did like the ease it bore on his eyes. However, it was then back to the damn symbols as he once again waited for a few replies.
