RE: Pre-Season - Episode 3: Dead Leaves
Zakk

Roger that Zakky boy, jus' dun piss of them, I'll be heading slowly toward the auction house. Zakk nodded to himself as he approached the town square, "Got it boss." As he approached the large building, Zakk to the town in. It was an interesting place, not big enough to be called a city, but just enough of a defensive and militarized presence to warrant it being put on a map. The local guards perked up as soon as he reached the double doors of the hall, thinking better of himself, Zakk turned around and headed toward a small noodle stand.
As Zakk sat down and ordered a meal, a loud voice boomed overhead from a town wide speaker system. As Zakk was listening to the giant peacocking that was the announcement, he noticed the guards perking up, some hanging on every word that was said, others spitting on the ground with rather unpleasant looks on their faces. Tabbing his comms, Zakk sent a coded message to the rest of the Malverines in the town, "Keep a sharp eye, some of these guards might be in Two-Fingers pockets.."

Clara

Clara sat on the top of the eagle's nest scanning the Exiles soldiers as they came in. Watching the unkempt uniforms and strange mannerisms as the each stepped through the checkpoint, Clara laughed to herself. Zooming in her scope as a annoyingly bubbly Aurin skipped though, Clara radioed to the other members of the Zeta squad, "I'm not sure plugging holes in these Exiles is even worth the bullets..." Clara had learned that looks can be deceiving after the bandit incident but no one else needed to know that. Looking over the town, Clara watch as one of the Exile soldiers walked toward the town hall. "Guys I got one that split off from the rest of the group, he's at the town hall. How do you want to play this?" Clara could hear the bickering of Emrys and Fahari, she supposed the town's defences weren't down yet or the real work would have already started.

Jack Donovan

As Jack walked the town, the speech from Two Fingers began. Spitting on the ground, he looked around to gauge the reactions from the guardsman around him. Jack had worked his ass of over the last couple of months trying to clean up the town after he took over as Town Marshal, but trying to clean up a mess when a kingpin ganglord was running the show was a tall order of business for anyone. Half of the guards were in his pocket, and the other half was too afraid to raise a gun hand to him or any of his lackeys. As Jack approached the main gate he spotted one of the guards smiling and joking around with Rippin Girroks as Two Fingers was talking. "Hey!", Jack yelled, "Get your shit straight and get back on post! You just lost yourself a days pay!" Jack Gave a half hearted nod to Sam the Dog as he walked up to the main checkpoint, "They may have run of the town now," Jack thought to himself,"but they are all on borrowed time..."

RE: Pre-Season - Episode 3: Dead Leaves
Vampa

The man waited for a long while, feigning unconsciousness and remaining still with his eyes closed. Eventually, he would look out the cell towards the guards, and very very quietly ease himself up to his feet. This brought his wrist shackles and the metal loop they were attached to into the small of his back. He felt around the fastenings, trying to find any fault in their stability or composition, but found nothing.
Bastards are running a pretty tight ship, he thought to himself.
Shifting forward in the cell gave the chains a shake, producing a small noise, which caught the attention of the guard outside his cell. The hulking bandit turned and grinned toothily at the Mordesh.
"Well look 'ere, princess is finally awake, eh? 'Bout time, thought you was just dead fer a time there... well. More dead than usual, eh?" he snorted, and guffawed to himself for a few moments. Vampa merely sighed softly, and looked around the area, taking in as much information as he could.
"Might as well sit down, ya corpse, you isn't goin' anywhere 'til the boss says so."
Vampa was inclined to agree, unfortunately. Depending on the dose of magic suppressants, he could be without their use for several days.

RE: Pre-Season - Episode 3: Dead Leaves
Carnatia:
"Hello to see you again Betty," Cathal as Alex says to her kindly. Carna erupts in giggly laughter, "Nice tah see ya too, Alex, sir, Alex. Teehee." A large pink bubble grows from her mouth and pops and she pulls the gum back into her mouth with a smile.

He soon left though too make his way through the shifting small crowd rambling all over the place toward the Auction house, Carna followed in toe skipping along and looking around. Then the announcement of the KingPin comes across, Carna still sways in her shipper way, but her large ears and turning and taking in the messages and all the noises around her. SHe spots Kaistiel and hears Cathal's message to her.

"EEEEEEEEE! Cela! Darling! So glad you're hhheeeerrreeEE!" Carna throws her hands in the air and shimmies towards Kais when Kais would probably come closer, and throws her arms around Kais in a big welcoming hug. Carna kisses Kais' cheeks and then hugs her again. Then whispering quietly to Kais, her voice her normal Carna voice, "It is ok Kais, I am here, others are here, you'll be fine I promise." She whispers to the girl. Carna pulls out of the hug and smiles and giggles at Kais as another large pink bubble appears out of her mouth and pops.

Carna then proceeds to link arms with Kais and would stay linked with Kais and skip along holding onto Kais' arm.

Natasha (Lacienga):

Lacienga listens to the announcement and quickly begins to finish her work. Everything looks to be in order. She was in charge cataloging and auctioning the goods, but each copy of her cataloging was sent through heavily encrypted frequencies and files right back to the Black Hoods for processes and tracking. When she finishes her final steps of the current cataloging his pulls the datapad she is carrying close to her chest and brings one hand up to her ear and opens a com to Johnny.

"Meester Zjawnny, Ser. Ze goods are in order, ven'never you vish to prahceed." She tells him in her thick accent.

RE: Pre-Season - Episode 3: Dead Leaves
Jane meandered through the crowd letting the flow of people carry her away from the group. "Where's the Doc?" She brushed her finger over the comm, "Wandering, boss. Gonna have a look around." The scent of food caught her attention. Her nose led the way to the noodle stand, and as she had hoped, a small crowd of mixed patrons was milling around. It looked like Zakk was making his way inside so she would keep tabs on the street instead. She found a place to lean just before the loud jolt from the PA pulled her off the wall. High rolling guest? That sounded promising. Jane pushed away from the building to find the general store.

Another pass down the central street put her back near the main gates in her quest for high rollers. An exchange between a gang and what looked like local law enforcement caught her attention. She paused to check it out. Well, isn't that interesting. Jane hurried forward and slipped between the edge of post and the wall. Within her pocket was her nanos, cozily resting in their box. She eyed the distance to the man barking orders and entered the approximate coordinates. "You just lost yourself a day's pay!" While the leader held their attention, Jane casually stooped to tie her boot and discreetly release a handful of bots. (( roll for bots making it to the target [Image: 4viaeq.jpg] )) Moments later, a ping on her receiver let her know at least a few had reached their destination. As the man started to move away, so did the little blip on the screen.

"Boss, I got some scouting to do." She clicked off the comm and started to stroll.

RE: Pre-Season - Episode 3: Dead Leaves
Zet

It felt weird having this comm device in his ear, he normally didn't have others talking to him minus himself. He was fidgiting around whenever someone new talked into the comm set which got him a few awkward looks as he passed by guards or others in general.

"Someone's going to figure us out and we're going to be caught if you don't play it cool..." He mumbled to himself.

"You would enjoy that, what with all the guards, im sure you'd have a blast trying to fight your way out of here." He nodded to himself.

"Lets go to the bar, I'm sure they have to have something good to drink around here."

Zet looked to his side to see a guard starring at him quite apprehensively, his finger was sliding towards the trigger and his hand had a very still look to it, like he was trained and had used his gun before. Putting his head down he walked quite briskly towards the general store.

When he walked inside he saw a few guards posted around in the building. One by the register, one by the exit, and one milling about around the store. He walked over to the counter squeezing himself between a granock and a wall. The keep came over, glass inhand.

"What'll it be?"

Zet looked over at the drink the granock had in his hand, "I'll have what he's having." Pulling out his ID to let it be scanned the man brought over his drink.

Seeing Zet reach for his money pouch the keep stopped him, "It's on the house until the end of the auction."

Zet thanked him and turned towards the door just in time to see a little red flash of fur move into the store.

Walic

After watching all the Exiles come off the ship and seeing none that had been identified as a Malverines he was a little disappointed. "Walic found none of them identified as Malverines, Walic will keep his eyes open though."

Watching the exiles as they walked away he caught a glimps of the mordesh acting a little odd, though truthfully they were all odd. Bit this one acted odd in a familiar way.

"Walic is going to tail the the mordesh, he acting funny."

Walic walked around keeping his eye on the mordesh while he was pretending to be in awe of the structure, though in truth he had already scanned, rescanned, and tripple scanned the layout of the "town". It was nothing more than an oversized rats den. Though in retrospect, he made a good deal of money off of them from the weapons and electronics they bought from him. Which had helped him with a lot of his newer projects.

Looking at some of the cameras that weren't so hidden he had almost missed the mordesh go into the store. Peering inside it looked a little crowded near the front so he pulled out his holovid as if he were getting a call. Realizing, after a few minutes had passed, that the mordesh might not be coming back out he decided to sneak in and see what was up.

Johnny

As the time slowly went by he got tired of watching the cameras, he didn't get anywhere in life by sitting around, he got where he was by action. Remembering the prisoner down in the dungeon, he decided he would take a stroll and see how things were going there.

Getting there he saw his two guards standing off to the opposite side of the cells. They were playing some game on their holovid. When they saw him they snapped to a version of attention, probably the best he'd ever see while not being in the military. After giving him an update about the prisoner being awake he looked over towards him, watching him stare back at him with a look of hate and possible curiosity. Walking towards the cell he placed his hands on his sides.

"Silly Mordesh. You thought you wouldn't be caught sneaking around my town. I don't know what you were doing here, but I will find out. I have all day, or until I choose. I'm sure you've heard, but we are having quite the get together outside today. I've seen a few of your pathetic race strolling the town. Thinking you guys are the gods of the worlds with your science experiments. Once again showing that brains aren't everything, the blind.... The dead leading the dead. Should have minded your own business and and stopped messing with your foolish notion of immortality." Raising his finger to his scarred chin, he was quite proud of his goading, he just hoped it would be the start to the info he needed.

Smileing he slipped open the cell, his guards became a bit more attentive they watched the Mordesh carefully. One produced a needle with a red liquid attached, the same thing that was suppressing his magic. Slipping his claws from the sheath, he balled his hand up into a fist, pressing the tip of his claws to the Mordesh's throat.

"Meester Zjawnny, Ser. Ze goods are in order, ven'never you vish to prahceed."

Johnny blinked and nodded, "Good, the festivities will begin soon. Should be fun. Now tell me, who are you working for. And trust me you will tell...."

His communicator beeper, it was an urgent private message. He retracted his claws and looked at his armband, putting in his password he read the message. Frowning he turned on his heels slamming the cell door closed.

"I'll be back for you later, and keep this maggot filled creature doped up." Seeing his guard drop the needle and having it shatter on the ground he stopped mid stride, scratched his forehead, and like a flash of lightning the man's innards were dropping to the floor with him following. The guard landed on his knees. Johnny kicked him in the middle of his head sprawling him on his back.

Putting his foot on the man's sternum he clinched his fist sending his claws into the man's chest, he spun his fist around making a hole around the guards heart, which johnny grabbed and held in his hands. Johnny held the guards heart in the face of the man as he took his last breath. Johnny turned squishing the guards heart in his hand, then tossed it to the other guard as he walked out.

RE: Pre-Season - Episode 3: Dead Leaves
"EEEEEEEEE! Cela! Darling! So glad you're hhheeeerrreeEE!" the over the top sweetness that was Carna....er no, that was Betty, cut through the nervousness that surrounded Kaistiel.

Kai managed to keep a straight face somehow as "Betty" skipped over to her. She managed a stiff return of the hug, trying to keep some semblance of her military cover intact. (Which is hard to do when there are pink bubbles of gum popping just inches from your nose.)

"I'll be fine, both of you," she said in person to Carnatia and over the com to Cathal. "Just not used to undercover work is all, but I'll keep my shit together."

Kai let "Betty" link arms with her, but refrained from skipping....that would draw a bit too much attention she thought. While the guards were focused on the bouncing Aurin at her side, Kai used their lack of interest in her to start mentally mapping escape routes, ambush points, and any anomalies that were in town.

"Curses are blessings with darker wrappings."

RE: Pre-Season - Episode 3: Dead Leaves
Cathal
Zakk quickly registered Cathal's order and it gave the boss less to worry about. The entire job was based on the re sent pile of prospects, and their ability to fool a group of marauders into bieving they were Exile specialists. Cathal had faith in what his ancestors had accomplished according to the Chronic le, but that didn't remove the bad feeling in his gut. Then came a message about the guards from Zakk, "Roger."

Cathal gave Varna as Betty a queer sideways glance, her damn impression was spot on. She is feckin scaring me with that get up.. Then the Aurin ran over to the recent rescue prospect and the man smirked. Always the fixer. Doc the called in as things slowly to be set in motion.

"This fine newbie this payout will be worth all the stress on Nexus," he the replied to Kaizteal in a quick message under his breath. Everything was going swimmingly, now all they had to do was survive to the damn auction. But there was more than just the auction, there was also finding out what information was hidden. What the damn Girroks stolen them?

Emrys
Emrys was bored, exceedingly bored. Each minute seem to pass on without any change. It was all one aspect of ongoing drudgery that would eventually drive him madder than a screaming Malverine The High Born Cassian cast a glance at the com system as Roger, the infernal AI, started singing again. Fahari for her part joined in and the two began a duet of utterly off key horrendous music.

"Keep an eye on the one that is at the Townhall, Clara," was all Emrys was able to muster at first. The music was rambling along like a half dead boulderback.

RE: Pre-Season - Episode 3: Dead Leaves
Zakk
Sitting at the Noodle shack, Zakk took in more of the town as he ate his meal. Now that Two-Fingers was done with his speech, most of the dirty guards had gone back to their patrol routes. Taking a large bite, Zakk could have sworn that he saw a glimmer on one of the eagle's nests out of the corner of his eye but dismissed it as nothing. Waving the shopkeeper over, Zakk slipped him a few credits, "So, where can I go if I want to get away from all these guards for some personal business?" The keeper looked apprehensive at best, but after Zakk slid another bundle of credits into his palm his face softened. Sliding a clear data slate under the bowl of noodles, the shopkeeper nodded and went back to his work, cleaning tables and joking with other patrons that sat down to eat. Placing his thumb on the dataslate, Zakk began to send the data over the Malv's comm feq, "It's cost me a damn weeks credits but I got some info for you guys." Looking around, Zakk spotted Zet at one of the bars, squeezed uncomfortably squeezed between a Granok and a wall, and nodded in his direction. "I hope he gets that talking to himself under control." Zakk thought to himself. As Zakk turned around to face the town hall again, he stood up and headed to one of the buildings highlighted on the dataslate **Town Marshal Jack Donovan** Placing the slate in his cargo pocket, Zakk smiled to himself "Welp time to get up to no good."

Clara
"Keep an eye on the one that is at the Townhall, Clara," "Roger that," Clara whispered, "Not like anything else interesting is going on in this shit heap of a town." Emrys sounded bored, Clara hadn't ever worked with him, but apparently word was he was some big deal on Cassian proper. As Clara watched the Exile soldier walking off, she strapped her rifle to her back and leapt off the eagle's nest to the ground. As she dropped past the guard she had knocked out, she noticed he was starting to come to and smirked to herself. Hitting the ground with a quiet thump, Clara began to tail the Exile. Checking her wrists where her new stalker blades sat, Clara slowly extended and retracted each razor edge, making sure everything was in working order. Over her shoulder, Clara could still hear the bubbly Aruin, talking nonsense and probably still skipping around. As the Exile approached the Marshal's office, Clara tabbed her comms, "The Exile is approaching the Chief Marshal's office, something doesn't feel right, what's the status of the town defenses?" As the soldier placed his hand on the door, Clara extended the blades on her wrist. "Standing by for further orders."

Jack Donovan
After the Two-Fingers speech stopped, things began to return to normal, well as normal as this town could get. The guards that Jack passed quickly snapped to attention, word had gotten around quickly about the incident with the guard screwing around with the local gang and no one else wanted to have their pay taken from them. As Jack approached the front gates he took stock of the people coming in, most of the soldiers from the two factions had already made their way in. Looking back, Jack spotted a Chua making his way into the town. Looking at one of the guards on post, Jack nodded in the Chua's direction, "Don't see one of them everyday, run his ID again through the database and get back to me." Looking at some of the guards, Jack headed over to one of the towns local address systems. Clearing his throat, Jack pressed the mic button and began to speak. " Attention citizens, this is Town Marshal Jack Donovan. Due to the presence of the Exile and Dominion military, there will be no tolerance for disruption of town operations. Any infractions will be met with the appropriate level of force required to end said infractions." Looking at the guards around him, Jack gauged their reactions, some had smiles on their faces and others looks of disinterest or outright aggression. Bringing the microphone up to his lips one final time, Jack looked directly at one of the guards he suspected was in the pockets of the local gangs. "You don't own this town Two-Fingers."

RE: Pre-Season - Episode 3: Dead Leaves
Behind him, the surly guard's prisoner quietly fiddled about with the chains, so far to no avail. They were secured very tight, but after a few minutes, he felt a slight weakness in the bolt that was securing the shackles to the wall behind him.
Vampa cast a quick, nervous glance towards the guard, then slid his grip on the chains up to the base, where they were held to the wall. He braced one foot against the wall, and began trying to wrench it off the wall, pulling in short, controlled bursts. The bolt began to very gradually give way, and Vampa silently pleaded with the universe not to allow any sound to escape his cell and reach the guard.

RE: Pre-Season - Episode 3: Dead Leaves
Carnatia:

Carna remains quiet now, but keeping on her happy facade. She listens to Kais/Cela. She stops skipping and just walks arm in arm with her. Carna too has been examining the area the whole time, but she is also acting as a distraction on purpose so the guards would be focused on her as others did what they needed to do. "Quaint little town, hehe." She giggles as Betty.

She was just now waiting for things to go down.

Lacienega/Natasha:

She is also just waiting for the man to appear and begin things.
