Zylla was taken by surprise by the sudden ferocity and managed to roll apart and to her feet a few paces away.

"Oh-ho-ho!" She chortled, catching her breath. "Now that's the spirit!"

"Here! A freebie!" She grinned and in a swift movement she unhooked her bra and tossed it at him.

Followed by a grenade she fished from her Void pocket.

Barely catching a glimpse of her rather buxom breasts, he focuses his attention to the grenade at hand, easily batting it safely away from himself with the flat of the axe.

He throws the axe into a nearby by tree, closing the distance between them and throwing a few punches, targeting weak points in the anatomy, hooking his spare toes into her bra.

...Might want it for investigative purposes.

The grenade splorched into a pool of goo as it hit a tree with no other effect.

For her part, Zylla spun around the Aurin's lunge attack with ease, as this time she was expecting it but, rather than counter with an attack of her own, she dove forward and past the Aurin, grabbing her mag-pistols and rolling into a golden sigil and out of view.

"Silly, fuzzhead..." Her voice came from somehwere from the woods. "This is not a duel, it's a hunt."

Another small sigil appeared by her discarded clothes, and a hand shot out and pulled them back inside back into nothing.

"...Damnit." He sighed, tossing the bra from his feet into his hand, tucking it into an interior pocket for later.

[A couple hours into night]

Warmth has begun to leech from his suit, and Kytex has been extremely stalwart about not entertaining Zylla and her hunt, trying to ignore her various appearances, showcasing her breasts or wiggling or ass as he tries to do his best to set up camp for the night. Having finally burrowed a small home in the ground, he seals up the entrance with some snow and feels his way back down to the small enclosure down below.

He pats the area before finding the pile of sticks in the middle taking a flint and a stick of steel from another utility pocket, scratching them and lighting a fire.

He sits back with a rather unhappy sigh. Kytex pulls out the holo, playing her song a few times before setting it down.

...He didn't want to kill her. But he knew that one day, perhaps not so soon, he may have to. It saddened him. Perhaps if the war between the Doms and Exiles never happened, they could've been best of friends.

Kytex shook his head of the poisonous thought. Yet...he saw her smile, and he wondered what she might be like as a friend. What she would be like, sad, angry, genuinely happy, and what it would be like to comfort her.

Again he had to shake his head of such thoughts...she wasn't going to be his friend, that much was clear...perhaps he should not try to be hers. In fact his brain constantly reminded him to not do such a thing. But her eyes, her voice, her smile...they're all part of a life that Kytex simply does not wish to end, even if they happen to be that of Sovereign.

...He laid his head down, curling up in his winter gear, bra still pocketed, as he slowly drifts to sleep.

From the shadow of the trees, Zylla smiled to herself. This was going to be a bit more fun than she expected; also, she wondered what in Isigrol would an Aurin see in a Draken. Or if there were any Draken who might be into Aurin.

But not her, definitely. She was barely curious about humans. Give her a nice, broad-shouldered Draken male to keep her happy.

Still, it was rather cute how the Aurin tried to be ferocious and defiant yet still he drooled at her. What did he call her? Siren of Whitevale? So he liked her singing? Hm. Note for later, but right now she was pretty confident he was staying right then and there, so she set up her own sleeping arrangements atop a tree, thermal sleeping bag/hammock obviating the need of a fire, the better to remain hidden. She'd wake up long before dawn to concoct her next surprise.

---

Next morning, Kytex would find the carcass of a recently-killed girrok cub with a simple note that read "breakfast", attached to a cute cartoony version of Zylla giving a thumbs-up.

It wouldn't be much longer before the mother girrok followed the trail Zylla had left on purpose and stumble upon the Aurin's camp...

((and off the pc for a bit before I go in-game... I might reply later before going to bed, if not, until tomorrow Smile ))

Dragging the carcass back into his den, he makes sure to smear blood to complete the trail (inadvertently), posting several spears pointed towards the entrance (quite a few actually), burrowing out a rear exit and keeping his axe on hand, sharpening the stone with a whetstone while the meat from the newly flayed cub cooks...not an easy process, the sharpening.

Kytex was in the middle of his work when a load rumble and the sound of wood splitting and snapping approached, fast.

Zylla was watching from a safe distance, but her pistols were ready and charged in case the little Aurin was in actual danger of being killed and eaten by a very angry white girrok.

Hopefully he'd realize his spears were going to be kind of useless against a rampaging beast the size of a cargo container, and hopefully he'd have the good sense to run this time.

((OOC: Whitevale girrok are like armored bears the size of an SUV. Wooden speares on the ground are not going to work, but I'll let you write out the scene and decide the outcome. This shouldn't be a long combat scene, since Zylla has a few of its kind in wait. Also, if you do decide that Kytex is about to die, Zylla WILL open fire at the girrok to drive it away)).

As the girrock barged through the entrance of the den, roaring and flailing its claws at whatever killed its child whilst destroying the wooden spears easily, the den was completely empty save for a fire...and a Grinder battery that sat ontop of the inferno.

On this Grinder battery, a little insignia of a certain capitalist pig sat in plain sight, as if showcased for the mother Girrock.

"Protostar Batteries: Now 2% less likely to explode...for money!"

*****

Finishing off the rather delicious feast of the cub, and the not evening touching the tidbits of the exploded mother's remains, he bound the scales of both creatures to his jacket by sewing the cleaned hide that holds the scales to the fabric of his jacket and leggings. Using string and the bones of the felled creatures, he crafted a shortsword and a longbow, both of which were reinforced with the sticks and lumber he had gathered from yesterday.

After the couple of hours (of rather frantic crafting) it takes to craft these weapons and armoring, he leaves his destroyed den, he sheathing his hunting knife back into the sheathe hanging from his hip, having carved the remaining bones into six arrows. From there on, he slowly trudges through the snow, looking for another ideal place to burrow into.

Finally!

Zylla licked her lips in anticipation. She had to admire the Aurin's ingenuity by rigging an explosive trap, but she had intended to make him start moving, and that's what he was doing now.

She had been revising her strategy. Clearly fear was not going to work because he was either stubborn, dumb, or pretty confident that she was not out to really hurt him, which was an expectation she'd have to correct.

No, not fear, definitely, but there was more than one way to skin a pumera.

But, first things first. She waited until Kytex was well on his way and took a look at his ruined vehicle, checked for any unpleasant surprises, and then pushed it into the trees, covering it with netting and snow, then placed a navsat marker keyed to Sovereign frequencies.

And then followed the Aurin's trail on her hoverboard. She'd let him be for today until he started making camp.

Then she pulled out something in her inventory she had not expected to use in this little project: her holo-tuner, the gauntlet-like device that let her make music and holographic shows back at the Radiance. She found another hiding place atop the trees and started to sing.

The song was not one usually heard outside Mikros: a Draken dirge; a farewell to warriors and friends as they joined the ancestors. It was a deep, soulful tune, and Draken did not usually sing it outside their home planet not because it was a secret, but mostly because off-world Draken adapted to the military discipline of the Legions.

However, she sang in Cassian common, and changed the lyrics.

"Farewell, warrior, let your journey be safe;
Even if killed by treachery, weapons denied,
Your strength will carry you through darkness' vale,
We remain behind, we vow for your revenge..."

RE: The White [07 / 07, 1668 | Whitevale | Zylla and Kytex, CLOSED]
Kytex burrowed into his new den, one he planned on staying in for more than a day this time around. He chuckled as he paused to listen to the faint voice of the Siren, if he could hear it from wherever she was. Otherwise, he would continue about setting up shelter, heading inside to build the interior without a delay.

He set about reinforcing the walls and ceiling with the remaining lumber at his disposal, saving the sticks for another axe at a later time. Sealing up both entrances, he drew his conventional compass from an interior pocket, freezing as he notices the bra he stowed away from yesterday's scuffle, and smirks a little, zipping his armored jacket back up.

After assessing in which direction north was, he began planning a beeline for Thayd while boiling fresh snow in his metal canteen, pouring a bit into a wooden cup he whittled from a rather useless chunk of wood from earlier.

Setting the cup to the side he fumbled a small packet of cocoa powder from his sleeve, cutting the pack open with his hunting knife and pouring it into the cup, stirring and mixing the hot water and the powder until the aroma of chocolate hit him, rousing a light purr from his throat as he began to relax.

He brought the drink to his lips and winced...

...Too hot.
